Chico e Fuentes são dois amigos que vivem de pequenos roubos e golpes. Ambos viveram a maior parte da vida nos EUA, Chico é emigrante português e Fuentes é espanhol. “Queimados” por terra do Tio Sam decidem vir para Portugal em busca do golpe perfeito.
Já em Portugal, são contratados por um velho e estranho Mordomo, Augusto, para assaltar uma Herdade que pertence a uma Condessa.
O objectivo do roubo é um quadro de naturezas mortas ¬ As Pêras de Saint Rémy de Vincent Willem, aliás Vincent Van Gogh, no valor de cinco milhões de euros.
Mas o destino tem outros planos.
Gomes, um perigoso bandido, quer vingar¬ se do velho Mordomo e junta-se a Coxo, para ir à Herdade cumprir a sua missão. O dia e hora coincidem com o plano de Chico e Fuentes.
Depois de muitas peripécias, os dois amigos acabam por fugir com o quadro…
Chico and Fuentes are two small-time crooks that live of cons and robberies. They have both lived most of their lives in the USA. Chico is Portuguese and Fuentes is a spaniard. Both immigrants. Already “burned” in “Uncle Sam’s land” they decide to go back to Portugal in search of the perfect con.
Already in Portugal, they are hired by an old, strange butler, Augusto, to rob homestate that belongs to a Countess. The deal is to steal a still-life painting – The Pears of Saint Rémi by Vincent Willem, or shall we say: Vincent Van Gogh, worth five million Euros. But destiny has other plans…
Gomes a dangerous bandit who wants revenge from the old butler and, along with Coxo, goes to the homestead to fulfill his mission.
The day and the hour overlap with Chico and Fuentes’ Plan.
In spite of all the confusion they end up running away with the painting…
